Analogy(উপমা, সাদৃশ্য, সাদৃশ্যানুমান) হচ্ছে একটি নির্দিষ্ট বিষয় থেকে অন্য কোন বিষয়ে তথ্য বা অর্থ স্থানান্তরের একটি জ্ঞানীয় প্রক্রিয়া, বা এমন একটি প্রক্রিয়ার সাথে সম্পর্কিত ভাষাগত অভিব্যক্তি। ইংরেজী ‘এ্যানালজি’ শব্দ গ্রিক শব্দ ‘এ্যানালজিয়া’ থেকে উদ্ভুত। এ্যানালজিয়ার অর্থ হচ্ছে অনুপাত। প্রাচীনকালে অনুপাতের সমতা বা সাদৃশ্য অঙ্কশাস্ত্রে সিদ্ধান্তের ভিত্তি হিসাবে ব্যবহৃত হতো। কিন্তু কেবল অনুপাতের সমতা নয়, দুইটি বিষয়ের মধ্যে কিছু পরিমাণ গুণের সাদৃশ্যের ভিত্তিতেও সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করা চলে।
